Sails
OK, I've fallen behind again already. I have actually shot a picture each day, the problem is that for a few days they were nice snapshots but not really anything I was pleased with. I suppose that's part of the learning experience you can expect from trying to do this.
This is one of two shots I posted in the Shot o' the Day set on Flickr. I actually like the other one better, but couldn't figure out a way to crop it just right. I posted it anyway hoping it doesn't get lost and I can come back to improve it.
Both shots are of Stephen Canneto's NavStar ’92 sculpture representing the sails of Columbus’ ships installed at the Franklin Park Conservatory. I could walk around these things for days and get a million different perspectives with all of the curves and angles. Perhaps I'll upload the rest of what I shot today in another folder...

Winter Trees
OK, so I technically didn't shoot this today, but I did do the editing today. In any case, the light sucks today and this trio of trees from yesterday's outing is worth posting all on it's own.

Red Barn
I've observed this barn for more than 2 years knowing that I should shoot it but never feeling like I could be happy with it. Today's bright sun and the January stark seemed the right time to go get it though.

Chuck
51 years (maybe 52 - we're not really sure of his exact age) and still my favorite guitar to play.
This Les Paul Jr. belonged to my Dad and was grudgingly put in my hands when I was in about 8th grade. I've got several others (electric and acoustic), but this one plays better, sounds better, and looks better than any of them. I've played it in rock bands, in jazz bands, even for the musical "Bye Bye, Birdie" in high school. I took him down to the basement today to plug him in and he still screams like a banshee and growls like a bear. Damn, I love this guitar!
